Global 2012: Lady Gaga’s Little Sister Shines in Fashion Shoot

Looks like Lady Gaga's sister was born this way, too. But Natali Germanotta, 20, doesn't quite have the same eccentric fashion tastes as her older, famous sibling. In a photo shoot for ViralFashion.com, the Parsons The New School for Design student strikes a pose in various high-end pieces from Alaia, J Mendel, and Proenza Schouler as she hangs out with well-dressed pals at Joanne Trattoria, her parents' Italian restaurant located on New York City's Upper West Side. It's good advertisement for the eatery, no?

Natali also happens to work at Joanne Trattoria, which has been the recipient of some bad reviews (the New York Daily News deemed it "the worst thing since herpes") when she's not immersed in her fashion studies. Describing the staff — who she was photographed with — as "like a family unit" to ViralFashion.com, she added, "I do a little bit of everything and adore my family."

The fact that Natali agreed to star in this photo shoot is surprising since she's rarely seen and typically allows her sister to get all the attention. But she did accompany Lady Gaga (real name Stefani Germanotta) down the red carpet at the CFDA Fashion Awards in June 2011. Natali also starred in Gaga's 2010 music video for "Telephone," her collaboration with Beyonce.

But although the photo spread paints Joanne as an extravagant place where people come to see and be seen, that's not exactly the case, says ViralFashion.com creative director Christian Fleres. "Everything about the shoot was over the top from the oversized meatballs and the 20 pound fish on the table to the big hair and jewelry," he revealed. "We had drama in mind the whole time, for that day everyone was playing the superhero version of themselves."

Global 2012: Lady Gaga tweets some racy images

Lady Gaga's tweets were getting a lot of attention ahead of her Buenos Aires concert Friday night.

The Grammy-winning entertainer has more than 30 million followers on Twitter and that's where she shared a link this week to a short video showing her doing a striptease and fooling around in a bathtub with two other women.

She told her followers that it's a "surprise for you, almost ready for you to TASTE."

Then, in between concerts in Brazil and Argentina, she posted a picture Thursday on her Twitter page showing her wallowing in her underwear and impossibly high heels on top of the remains of what appears to be a strawberry shortcake.

"The real CAKE isn't HAVING what you want, it's DOING what you want," she tweeted.

Lady Gaga wore decidedly unglamorous baggy jeans and a blouse outside her Buenos Aires hotel Thursday as three burly bodyguards kept her fans at bay. Another pre-concert media event where she was supposed to be given "guest of honor" status by the city government Friday afternoon was cancelled.

Global 2012: Taylor Swift's Red sold 1,208,000

Taylor Swift's Red sold 1,208,000 copies in its first week, the greatest one-week total since Eminem's The Eminem Show sold 1,322,000 in its first full week in June 2002. It's the second-highest one-week sales tally ever for a female artist. Britney Spears' Oops!...I Did It Again sold 1,319,000 in its first week in May 2000. (Swift should get extra credit for degree of difficulty. It's much harder to do this now than it was back then when records were, you know, selling.)

Wrap your head around this: Red sold more copies than every other album in the top 50 combined. (More than every other album in the top 52, to be precise.)

The tally for Red is up from the 1,047,000 that Swift's previous album, Speak Now, sold in its first week in October 2010. And that was up from the 592K copies that her sophomore album, Fearless, sold its first week in November 2008. And that was way up from the 39K that her first album, Taylor Swift, sold in its first week in October 2006.

Swift is one of only four artists to ring up first-week sales of 1 million or more copies more than once. The others are Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC and Eminem. This makes Swift the first female artist and the first country artist to achieve this feat. And she's just the second artist, following Backstreet Boys, to see its sales increase from its first million-selling first-week to its second. Details below.

The tally for Red includes 465K digital copies, which constitutes the second-highest digital total in history. Lady Gaga's Born This Way sold 662K digital copies in its first week in May 2011. And that total included about 400K copies that sold for 99 cents at Amazon MP3. (Gaga fans wish I'd stop bringing that up, but it is a pretty significant asterisk.) Mumford & Sons' Babel sold 420K digital copies in its first week in September, which is now the third highest one-week tally.

Red becomes Swift's third #1 album on The Billboard 200. Swift is only the third female artist in country music history to notch three #1 albums. She follows Faith Hill, who scored with Breathe, Cry and Fireflies, and Carrie Underwood, who scored with Carnival Ride, Play On and Blown Away. (Hill, of course, is married to Tim McGraw, the subject of Swift's first hit on both the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs, "Tim McGraw.")

Red smashes Garth Brooks' record for the greatest one-week sales in history for a country album. Double Live sold 1,085,000 copies in its first week in November 1998. (It goes without saying that Red enters Top Country Albums at #1. It's Swift's fifth #1 country album.)

Global 2010: Beyonce Is Now and Will Always Be Richer Than You

Taylor SwiftCover of Taylor SwiftExtra! compiled the data from a few of Forbes magazine's lists of 2010's top-earning entertainment players to make their own countdown of who in Hollywood raked in the most money in the past year. The list is led, unsurprisingly, by Oprah with a 12-month total of $315 million. Slightly more surprising is the rundown of musicians who made the Top 20, with their respective rankings and cash intake: Beyoncé (Nine, $87 million), Britney Spears (13, $64 million), Lady Gaga (14, $62 million), Madonna (15, $58 million), Miley Cyrus (18, $48 million), and Taylor Swift (19, $45 million). That's six women, all in their teens or twenties -- save for Madonna, who celebrated her Sweet 16 Plus 36 this past summer -- who record pop music.
