Global 2012: Taylor Swift And Conor Kennedy Share A Smooch In Massachusetts

(Photo credit: Wikipedia)If investing in expensive real estate across the street from the Kennedy compound wasn't enough proof that Taylor Swift is serious about Conor Kennedy--here's a simpler verification. The pair were caught kissing on camera for the first time, on Friday in Massachusetts.

The cute couple--he's the 18-year-old son of Robert Kennedy, Jr. and the late Mary Kennedy--are discreet in the photos, displaying a demure rather than heated embrace. However, it's hard to deny they seem genuine. Kennedy particularly looks smitten as he nuzzles Swift's cheek, while she grins for the photographers and links her fingers with his.

Swift's been spending lots of her summer with the Kennedy family. After being incorrectly linked to another Kennedy kid, Patrick Schwarzenegger, it was quickly noted by several sources that she was actually serious about his cousin Conor. Earlier this month she purchased a Cape Cod mansion close to Conor's grandmother, Ethel Kennedy.

She appears to have the green light from the tight-knit Kennedy clan--both Ethel and Conor's aunt Rory Kennedy have spoken favorably of her, with Ethel even going so far to say that the clan would be "lucky" to have her as an addition.

In addition to her new romance, Swift is busy with plans for her fourth album, which will be released in October. Her first single from the set, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," debuted last week. It's expected to break numerous records as soon as final numbers are released for this week's sales.

Global 2012: Two great whites return to Massachusetts

Just in time for summer, here's some news that may give vacationers pause before jumping into the water at Cape Cod beaches: Great white sharks are also paying a visit.

The massive sharks have returned to the area over the years, and last summer shark sightings led to several beach closings.

According to WBZ-TV, the State Division of Marine Fisheries was alerted to their presence when electronic receivers detected audio signals on two of seven sharks the state tagged in the same area last year in open ocean about half a mile from the Chatham shoreline.

Like many tourists, the sharks are coming for the seafood. The sharks were detected near Monomoy Island, where a tempting seal population has attracted the great whites in recent years. A shark researcher for the state of Massachusetts noted that he had seen seals with sharks bite markings on them as recently as Wednesday.

The beaches will remain open. But if swimmers want to keep from getting their own shark bite markings, here's a common-sense suggestion from shark researcher John Chisholm. "Don't swim with the seals. That's really all we can say. It's their ocean."
