Michael Phelps may be nursing a broken heart.
The Olympian has reportedly split from his model girlfriend, Megan Rossee. The beautiful blond was first spotted on the arm of her favorite swimmer during the Summer Olympics in London in August 2012.
The couple were last spotted together at an event for the National Aquarium on December 27. The organization posted a photo that evening on Twitter with the caption , "Thanks again to @MichaelPhelps and @meganrossee for visiting us tonight! Our boys loved the extra play time.
A few days later the swimming star tweeted the cryptic message, "Things happen for a reason. #notme."
Rossee responded with an odd photo stating, "A woman's loyalty is tested when her man has nothing. A man's loyalty is tested when he has everything."
With the news that their relationship is sunk, the superstar swimmer joins a growing group of sports stars who have called game over on their relationships in recent months.
